Top 10 hotels in Guangzhou

TOP 1  – Grand Hyatt Guangzhou
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB1120

Editor score: 4.7  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

Overall well worth the money. i stayed in the basic room, a grand king size bed, huge room, fantastic bathroom , shower, tub, great view. and all for about 850 yuan plus tax, about $150. Only a little bit annoying before finding the hotel. Even local taxi didnt know the place. Breakfast was excllent, mainly serving good western food, if provided some local specialities as well. if every hotel was this good, i will travel more.

TOP 2 – Guangzhou Sheraton Hotel

Check the time to complete the formalities a bit slower, in general, good staff are hard each service polite and greet guests, answer questions treat three-story restaurant is a good choice at reasonable prices will come later.

TOP 3  – The Garden Hotel Guangzhou
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB928

Editor score: 4.5  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

nice rooms, nice bathrooms, nice facilities, good food, good location, good room service, NICE GARDEN with waterfalls! nothing to complain really. A very good Hotel. Except the friendlyness of the staff. Not that they were unfriendly. But, why do I always have the impression of them doing the job just at a minimum level of participation and commitment… that is really annoying. But that is a problem all over China…

TOP 4 – Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB838

Editor score: 4.5  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

I stood there for one night. The service was quite nice. The english skills of the stuff was very good and they were helpful. The breakfast was good. The location just 10 min walk from the Taojin metro station. but the surrounding supporting is not enough.

TOP 5  – White Swan Hotel
Average rate (per night) :  In the decoration process

Editor score: 4.5  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

i stayed in White Swan hotel in the past quite a few times but this time the rooms are really old and don’t have the 5 star hotel luxury.. they need renovation asap. But the staff service was excellent .
TOP 6 – China Hotel, A Marriott Hotel
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB1050

Editor score: 4.5  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

Good and bad. Location was OK, next to subway and convention center. But not really downtown near anything walking distance.
Room was AWESOME. Brand new renovated, two large Queen Size beds. Huge shower area, though it was weird how the tub was there too I thought…Service was OK, not bad, but nothing overly nice or special.

TOP 7 – Dongfang Hotel
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB781

Editor score: 4.4  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

We were very impressed and pleased with the entire stay at Dongfang Hotel. Every member of the staff spoke some English, with the majority of the staff capable of holding long conversations. Everyone was helpful and courteous. We arrived to find our room had been taken, and received a prompt upgrade to a suite! Beautiful spacious room with a great bed. We will definitely be back!!

TOP 8 – Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Science City
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB700

Editor score: 4.4  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

This hotel I can highly recommand, its rooms are perfectly clean with spotless new bathrooms and some of the rooms have a nice view on the outdoor swimming pool. Most of the staff can speak English and the buffet is awesome. The only tricky thing is that most taxi drivers have difficulties to find the hotel (even with a description).

TOP 9 – Phoenix City Hotel
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB461

Editor score: 4.1  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

Nice hotel, shining lobby, maybe too luxurious. The room was spacious and clean, bathroom was in good condition too. Only the breakfast was a little laged behind and needs to be improved soon. I strongly suggest they provide more options. So crazy!

TOP 10 – Ramada Plaza Guangzhou
Average rate (per night) :  From RMB504

Editor score: 4.1  (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)

Good in most of the aspects, and a GREAT swimming-pool that opens until 11pm. Nice service and comfortable environment. The only little problems I encountered was a strange smell in the room (probably from the previous traveller) and a not-se-good breakfast, with the same old stupid fake orange juice, sweet toasts and hidious coffee you normally find around China.
